The Meadowview Story

Meadowview Presbyterian Church was founded in 1954 and has 170 members. Located at the center of Hike's Point, Meadowview seeks, in the love of Jesus Christ, to minister to the needs of its membership, the community and the world at large.

We are a member of the 2.5 million-member Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) which has its headquarters in Louisville. Typical of our denomination, our congregation is diverse with members representing a variety of age groups, marital status, and theological viewpoints. Our leadership too represents gifted men and women of different races and ages.

Central to our church is a dynamic Sunday morning worship experience with solid, biblical preaching and an outstanding musical program. The service reflects contemporary language and understandings of faith in a traditional setting. It is active with opportunities for congregational participation and sharing of prayer concerns and thanksgivings. An entertaining children's message speaks to the needs of our younger worshipers as well. Our sanctuary is accessible to those in wheelchairs.

Our faith is futher nurtured by a diverse Christian education program, much of which takes place on Sunday mornings prior to worship. We welcome learners of every age and loving child care for infants and toddlers.

We also have monthly fellowship events for a variety of interests, and Meadowview is committed to giving time, talent, and support to mission opportunities.

Although the Presbyterian Church has adopted eleven different "confessions" representing the faith statements of Christians through the centuries as guides for the present day, individuals become members of a church simply by professing Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. Individuals join the Church after first meeting with the pastor and then with the Session. They are welcomed into the congregation during worship.

Meadowview publishes a bi-weekly newsletter, the "Meadowviewer," which features a pastor's column and news about the church. Put me on the newsletter mailing list.
