Rob was born in Brookehaven Mississippi and grew up the youngest child of a Presbyterian Minister and an Elementary School Teacher. Almost immediately, his family moved to Huntington, West Virginia, where he grew up. He joined the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church in Huntington, where his father was Pastor. Rob became a youth leader, Church School teacher and was elected an Elder in the Church. He went to high school and college in Huntington. He earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in counseling and rehabilitation from Marshall University in December 1992.
After graduating, he moved to North Carolina and began working as a house parent at an emergency shelter for at-risk youth. On a beach trip with his group of youths, he met Lori, the woman who would become his wife. She was working as a summer intern at the home, and later accepted a full-time position. After two years, they married and moved to Richmond Virginia to allow Rob to attend the Presbyterian School of Christian Education at Union Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He earned a Master's degree in Christian Education in May 1998. From Richmond, they moved to Louisville where Rob earned a Master’s of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in May 2000.
Rob and Lori fell in love with the city of Louisville and decided that they would stay here. Rob accepted a position as a Chaplain at what is now called Presbyterian Homes of Louisville (in Buechel). He was ordained there in March 2002. Lori continues to work with at risk youth. Rob became our Pastor at Meadowview in August 2003. Rob and Lori reside in the Fern Creek area. His hobbies include playing the guitar, and he often incorporates his music into our worship and social events.
